An expert panel from the American Association of Nurse Assessment
Coordinators (AANAC) will review nominees based upon criteria such as
employment longevity, interaction with residents, family and staff,
coaching or mentoring abilities, work ethic, and quality of work.
Nominations will be judged equally based on their submissions.
The Nursing Assistant of the Year Scholarship Program is open to any
Nursing Assistant with one or more years experience working in the
long-term care industry for a licensed long-term care facility.
Nominations must be validated by the administrator or Director of
Nursing of the nominee's facility using a provided online form. Validation must be confirmed within
14 days of the nomination submission.
If chosen as winner or finalist, recipients must apply the awarded amount towards completion of one of the following: master’s degree, bachelor’s degree, associate degree or technical certification in nursing.
No more than two nominees from any single facility address are permitted.
Nominee must be at least 18 years of age, reside in the United States and be a United States citizen.
Winners must be able to provide proof of age and citizenship.
